Reflecting on FOCUS

Overall, fifth grade FOCUS had its ups and downs. I really liked my time here. I loved what we did in Language Arts. It really helped my mental abilities and I enjoyed every bit of it. FOCUS math was my least favorite, you could say I had some troubles with that, you could say it was challenging, not hard. Hard is not a word we use in FOCUS but, isn't that what it is suppose to do? It was not easy, but that shows you that FOCUS is doing what it needs to do to-mind-stretch me. Logic and analogies was also challenging, but it made you think out of the box, the way most people don't think. I'll miss it, and I got something great out of it, it was nice.

I'll miss you so much Rock Springs! I have been here since Kindergarten and I have had so many special memories with friends, teachers, and even the food and actual school building. I loved the way teachers taught things, and I love the field trips, and the way things were set up. The only things I did not like were the school lunch food and the music they played. I Can't imagine going to another school, I have been here for so long! I'm a little nervous about Middle School, but I'll be fine, I'll survive. It's just school, a new school. Rock Springs Elementary, good luck! I hope to come and visit. I'm, excited to see the new generations of kids that come.

Also in FOCUS, we are doing a Shakespeare play, for Reader's theater. I love Shakespeare so much! He was really a talented person, no wonder why his plays still live on. We as a FOCUS class are doing one of his plays called A Midsummer's Night's Dream. This play is about romance, by far, and four lovers are forced to marry the person that they don't love. One girl loves another Girl's man that she is suppose to marry but can't because she has to marry a man that another girl loves and he loves that girl too. Twisted up, right? I'm still trying to get this whole story myself, it is really hard to explain.Once some one reads the script, or sees the play, they will understand. Shakespeare seems to be a man of great plays that are great, but hard to understand at first. My character is named Helena and she is supposed to be marrying Lysander, a man who loves Hermia, who loves him, but is going to be married to Demetrius, who loves Helena. In the end, after a long commotion of who loves this and who loves that, Hermia marries Lysander, which is the man she loves and Helena marries Demetrius, the man she loves. Sorry, you probably have a headache.

Everything is all coming together in 5th grade FOCUS with Mrs. Z. It is a truly great experience and I am glad to learn more and finish off the year with a satisfying smile. I'm glad to hear your comments! I'm really excited to start blogging, this sounds and is really interesting, and I hope to blog more!

Good buy Rock Springs

Well I'm really going to miss this school. Good thing I still have somethings to look for ward to. I'm doing this play in focus, and it is by Shakespeare. It is called A Mid-Summers Nights Dream. What I really like that I am one of the narrators. I like it, because I never did that before.
Pulse I'm in another play in A.C. math. I play the bodyguard. I love it, because I get to carry people, and I don't get in trouble for it. I also were fake facile hair.
Before I finish this I want to say that I will always love the school. I made friends. And it put me in the right path. It doesn't even compare to the other school. That is why I and everyone should remember the school an faculty of Rock Springs Elementary School!

5th grade focus

Focus
I've had a lot of fun and confusion in Focus, but i still enjoyed it. I really didn't like the first few years beacuse I didn't know wha the heack to do! I really didn't fully understand Focus until the 4th grade. Mrs.Zawacki's teaching then was easier to understand, and I finally understood it. Now, I kind of understand everything. Focus allways seems carzy, but I some how allways pull through.
Rock SpringsElementry
I've allways enjoyed being at RSE. I have had many fun experinces here i'll never forget. In
Mrs. Anerson's kindergarten class I read around 2000 books and won Freddy the frog as a
prize. In 1st grade in Mrs. Amanda's classroom I got to take home the class pet tadpoles. In 2nd grade I went on a cool feild trip the the Herritage Center. In 3rd grade I got to bring home Hopper and Jumper. In the 4th grade I did a cool experiment that involved me chewing gum in class. Now, I had and asome feild trip to Calloway, one to a Gwinnett Braves game, and pretty much every thing were doing now Is just the grand fanially for this school!

Shakespeare
The play we made is a verry funny show! I play Duke Thesus, and i'm kinda mad about that because i only have 7 lines but at least i'm in the play. A friend in my class that plays Peter Quince really rocked at it! I think there might needs to have some improving with the play, but so far it's good.

Focus Review

focus
I've have very little time in focus, but the little time has helped me. Focus is challenging and the triple Venn diagrams are difficult.I dislike that we don't have recess on focus and don't like the analogies. I also do like things such as experiments and logic grids.Focus is always fun even on triple Venn diagrams and analogies.

Shakespeare
The play we did was a midsummer nights dream. I played lysander.Hermia loved lysander but Hermia's father did not like lysander.Since there were no women in plays all women parts were given to men.My favorite part of the play was it was fun but I didn't like i had to marry Hermia.

Farewell RSE
Rock Springs is my favorite school.I made new friends and still have the old ones.to make it even better mom mom is here with me.Rock Springs was fun and everyone was nice.Everyone welcomed me to my new school will always remember this school for the good things and bad things.

The Tales of Rock Springs Elementary

Focusing on FOCUS
FOCUS has been an amazing opportunity to me for many years. I've been in the FOCUS program since kindergarten, and I am now in the fifth grade, sitting in my FOCUS class writing this blog. Throughout all of my years in FOCUS, I've been given the chance to do many many things. I am able to share my ideas with all of my classmates, and I can use my imagination and creativity in everything I do. In kindergarten FOCUS, even though I was young, it was a learning experience. My friend and I were the only two people in FOCUS at that time, and during FOCUS, we would do a work sheet and maybe a mind bottler. Every single FOCUS day however, my friend and I would make up a puppet show and preform it for our teacher. I believe that was a great lesson/strategy, because it taught us both to use our imagination and creativity. In first grade FOCUS, my classmates and I did a lot of cool experiments and research projects. In second and third grade FOCUS, I had the same teacher, and we would do logic grids, analogies, and play games. The analogies and logic grids helped us to use our minds and the clues we were given. I now have the same FOCUS teacher in fifth grade as I did in fourth grade. We still do logic and analogies, but they are more complex. We've done balances, triple venn diagrams, and many other fun, new, and exciting activities. FOCUS is a fantastic program for children to be in. It makes us feel as if we are something greater than the world. Today's children are tomorrow's leaders, and FOCUS is something that helps us accomplish that goal. This program takes kids like my classmates and I to new levels of education, where we are callenged, which doesn't just prepare us for our future education, but it prepares us for our future lives.
Reader's Theater in FOCUS
In fourth and fifth grade, the FOCUS program preforms a play based on a book or a play. This is called Reader's Theater. In fifth grade this year, we are preforming A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare. This play is about two people from different backgrounds who fall in love, and go on a crazy adventure so they can get married without the woman's father dissapproving their marriage. The family members, lovers, and fairies in this play are just characters of their own.
In this play, I am the character Titania, which is the fairy queen. Shakespeare's play was somewhat confusing at the beggining, because of all the love talk, because this person named Hermia liked Lysander, but she was supposed to marry Demetrius, so they ran away, but Hermia's sister Helena loved Demetrius. Demetrius chased Hermia and Lysander into the forest, and then Helena chased Demetrius into the forest. Then, these fairies were fighting(one of them is my character) so Oberon sends his assistant, Puck, to sprinkle love potion on people's eyes so they fall in love with the first thing they see. Then Puck put potion on the wrong people's eyes, so Hermia loved Demetrius, Demetrius loved Helena, Helena loved Lysander, and Lysander still loved Hermia. Then the love potion was removed from the people's eyes so they loved the same people in the beggining, except for the fact that Demetrius loved Helena now,and it was just all so confusing! Other than that, I think that the play is very exciting and some what mysterious because you don't know what's going to happen next. The only down side about about this is that the fairy king, Oberon, whom I'm supposed to be married to in the play, is shared by two girls, so I have to pretend that another girl is my huband. Not as easy as it sounds!
Good-bye Rock Springs
Rocksprings has been like a giant family to me. While I'm here, I feel like everyone just has a connection with the others. All of the teachers are best friends, and that reflects on the kids. I've been given many opprotunities for all six years I have been here. I have had many good times here, and I've collected many great memories. All the teachers and staff here are amazing. I cannot believe I am leaving this wonderful school. Now, I am taking one step forward, ready to take on new challenges and seek new opprotunities. Good-bye Rock Springs. I will miss you.
Sincerely,
Jenna

Godbye RockSprings

Since I started fifth grade FOCUS, I didn't really like it. I disliked it because I think some worksheets are too difficult for me. But sometimes I really enjoy focus! I like focus because I like to get away from class and go to a class that is really relaxing, quiet, and challenging at times. Since I'm going off to middle school next year I will no longer be in fifth grade focus. But I think that being in focus in fifth grade will help me in some classes in sixth grade. Since we do some 6TH grade A.K.S in focus but overall, I will really miss this school and fifth grade FOCUS.

Reader's Theatre.

I really like reader's theatre because I like to get into character and preform for my friends! I also like reader's theatre because we get to preform some of my favorite books or plays such as the play we are doing now! Which is A Midsummer Night's Dream written by Shakespeare. I really wanted Romeo and Juliet but I guess A Midsummer Night's Dream is OK. I remember last year preforming my play Under the Snow in front of my class. It was so embarrassing! It was because ALL my friends saw me do a British accent all I could say is WOW! But it was fun!

Farewell Rock Springs

I'm really going to miss this school. I don't even want to think about the last day yet. I'm really sad because my friend Shelby who has been in my third, second, and fifth grade class isn't going to the same middle school as I am so I will miss her a lot. Also I'm going to one of the biggest middle school's so I won't see all of my friends often. So really I will miss this school not just because of the friends but because of the teachers also. In all, I will miss this school very much. And I thank everybody who helped he get to this point in time.

Fifth Grade Focus

Fifth Grade Focus taught me things like balances and logic. I've been in focus since Third Grade and I didn't actually get anything until Fifth Grade. We also learned about Shakespeare. We learned about Shakespeare and now we are doing one of his plays.
Rock Springs was a great school where I've made lots of friends. Thankfully almost all of my friends are going to Creekland Middle School. The staff and teachers are great. My favorite grade was fifth Grade, it seemed like every week was something fun. Middle School will be harder because I'll be doing all the hard and long homework, Band, and football. The teachers are really strict and they expect you to be very responsible. I will miss rock Springs.
We learned about Shakespeare and now we are doing Midsummer's Night Dream. My part is okay but it gets boring because I only have three lines, so most of the time I just sit there.

-Max

5th grade Focus

This years FOCUS was great. I'm going to miss Rock Springs. I learned a lot in FOCUS, history, science, math, and let alone social skills. I am ready for the challenges of 6th grade all thanks to Mrs.Zawacki. Readers theater was great too. Though I didn't like the character I was given. I hoped I would have gotten a girl part. But, I know I'm still going to have a good time. This year went by pretty fast. I learned a lot about Shakespearean times.

Mrs.Zawacki is like a saint to me. She influenced me to work harder and do my best. I had a lot of fun in her focus class. It's to bad, next year the teachers are not going to be as great as her.

RSE Review

Rock Springs Elementary is where some of my greatest memories have been. I've always had great, understanding teachers to encourage me and teach me. I will miss it when I'm in middle school. My opinion of FOCUS is that it's very fun and a great way to exercise my brain. I look forward to it every week. Mrs. Z. is a kind and understanding teacher who loves all of us students in her class for what we have. Shakespeare's plays are inspiring and entertaining. He must have been a genius in his time. The most entertaining play in my opinion is Midsummer Night's Dream. My favorite character in the play is Nick Bottom. He is very funny and entertaining.

FOCUS at Rock Springs ES

Fifth grade FOCUS has been pretty fun. I liked learning about other things that we usually don't learn in any normal classes. It can be really hard especially math. I moved to Rock Springs last year and I met my new focus class. I really disliked it at first but I liked getting away from the class and having more challenging things. It has been a great opportunity that not many people get. My favorite part of fourth grade focus was reader's theatre. It let me overcome some of my shyness and helped me be able to talk in front of other people. Our focus teacher- Mrs.Zawacki- was great. I have had her since last year and she has helped me a lot with my struggles and gave me a great experience.

Right now in fifth grade focus, we are learning about Shakespeare and many of the plays he has written. In our focus class we are doing the play A Midsummer Night's Dream. It is a confusing story about people from different backgrounds falling inlove with the wrong person. It is a reader's theatre and I am excited to do it. I haven't done readers theatre in a long time so I am a little bit nervous about it. We have learned a lot about Shakespeare and I have become more interested in him and his writing. I never thought I would like anything like that. It was kind of boring for me but I got really curious about it. It is something that I would love to learn more about.

This is my last year in elementary school going to be how I thought it would. Moving here to Rock Springs was the best thing that happend to me and I will miss it. My favorite part of the year was the field trip to Callaway Gardens. It was fun. This year has been a great year and one that I will never forget. I have had a wonderful time learning new things and being with my friends. I was lucky to have this chance and I loved being in focus. I will miss all of the teachers that have helped me here and I will miss many of my friends that I won't get to see anymore. This year was like no other and I know it has been the best.

Memories At Rock Springs Elementary

I have had a wonderful experience at Rock Springs. I will miss this school very much. I am exited for middle school, but it is sad that these are my last few days here. In the middle of the school year of fifth grade I was excepted for FOCUS. It has been a memorable experience. I liked learning about Shakespeare, and recognizing that it was tough living back then. That reminds me, our FOCUS class is doing a play that was written by Shakespeare. It is called A MIDSUMMER'S NIGHT DREAM. I am Egeus in the play, a father who is angry because his daughter wants to marry an unwealthy man. In math we are now doing balances. Rock Springs will always be my favorite school.

-Raena

FOCUS In 5th Grade

Reader's theater is when we read a play from a skript and the teacher gives you your part. In our FOCUS class , we are doing a "Midsummer Night's Dream". It is about two young people in love from different familys. Hermia , one of the main charaters[played by me] ,falls in love with an unwealthy pesent named Lysander. Her father Egeus, wants Hermia to marry Demetrius. Meanwhile Helena, falls in love with Demetrius. Demetrius thinks he's in love with Hermia but he is really in love with Helena. Lysander and Hermia planned to get married in the forest , but Helena over heard and told Demetrius thinking that it would make him fall in love with her, but all it did was make Demertrius go find Hermia. While this was happening, there was a crew practicing their play for the wedding for Demetrius and Hermia[ which will eventualy be for Lysander and Hermia]. While all this took place, the fairy king and queen were having a fight over their child. So the fairy king plays a trick on his wife. The fairy helper puts a donkey head on one th the actor's head and puts the love juice in the fairy queen's eyes. She fell in love with the donkey. The king felt bad for Helena so he told his helper to put the fairy juice in Demertrius' eyes ,but he fairy helper, Puck spreads the love juice in the wrong people's eyes.Eventualy, everyone falls in love with the right person and the fairies fall back in love.
In fifth grade, you have alot to look foward to. Espeacily if you are in FOCUS. You get to do readers theater, challaging puzzels, read stories, triple vin diagrams, and more logic.I enjoyed all my years at Rock Springs but fith grade was one of my many favorites. I will miss our fun but logic activities, but I am moving on to PROBE which is like FOCUS but in middle school. It is more challenging and we get to do more logic activites. I can't wait to go to middel school but I am sad to leave. For those of you nevus to start fifth grade , kick back, relax, and enjoy what you have because.

What's up in 5th grade?

Lots of things happen in 5th grade including learning about Shakespeare and acting out one of his plays. In 5th grade FOCUS My classmates and I are acting out A Midsummer's Night's dream. In the play I am Peter Quince, the leader of the Merchants. We're also doing balances in FOCUS math and logic grids in language arts. I'm in AC math and we are learning robotics and videos. I've also been in course performances as an elf and an announcer. I'm also in the Peer Leader program. i help two of my 1st grade friends.
I love Rock Springs. I've had great memory's here from siting in the hall eating ice cream in kindergarten, to going on the 5th grade field trip, and lots of fun in between. I am going to Creekland but I will miss Rock Springs ES.

5th grade focus recap

People in FOCUS are always busy. They barely ever finish all there work because they get so much of it. Once you get used to it, it's almost always easier. People in FOCUS don't just get in to FOCUS because they're smart, they also have to have good behavior, creativity, and leadership skills. FOCUS isn't all people think it is it's actually harder than normal class.

Right now in FOCUS we're studing Shakespeare and acting out one of his plays. We're doing "a Midsummer's Night's Dream". My part is a man named Nick Bottom. He is an actor in a company that performs for the Duke at his wedding. He plays the lead role. He and the other actors make a terrible play.

We're leaving elementry school very soon and I have to say, these past 6 years have been kinda fun. I'll miss RSES. Now I'm about to go to CMS and there I'll be at the bottom instead of at the top like at Rock Springs. Good-bye RSES.

5th Grade FOCUS, School Reflections, and Mini Shakespear's Play

Fifth Grade FOCUS-
I have had many experiences in Fifth Grade FOCUS even though I have only been in it for a few months now. Some of the my not-so favorite things in FOCUS is the logic and analogies, but something i do enjoy is learning Greek and Latin root words for our vocabulary tests. FOCUS can give you many learning experiences for future middle school classes or Probe classes. In FOCUS we have learned about Triple Venn Diagrams, FOCUS Vocab, Shakespeare, Hands on Equations. I have enjoyed being in FOCUS with new people and being with Mrs. Zawacki!
At Rock Springs Elementary I have had many memories like chorus plays, AC math, peerleading, many more including field day, book fair and more exciting things. It is sad that I am going to be leaving R.S. ,but the good thing about that is that I am getting older and moving on to middle school. I will miss all my teachers and the ones I didn't have and all my classmates and friends in other grades or if they are going to another school. I will miss you Raptors and soon to be Eagles!
Reader's Theater has been an exciting thing for me beacuse we are doing a play from Shakespeare. I am not as excited as I thought I would be beacuse I'd rather be a girl than a boy but it will still be fun. The play is called A MidSummer Night's Dream. My part is a boy named Puck and he is trying to help out Oberon but mainly try to make him smile. The over all main idea is that two lovers from different backgrounds meet and want to get married but they can't because they are not allowed to and their names are Hermia and Lysander, but Helena is in love with Demetrius but he likes Hermia and Hermia loves Lysander which Hermia is suppose marry Demetrius. Lysander is left alone, not to marry anyone, but at th end Lysader does marry someone and that ssomeone is Hermia. Helena ends up marrying Demetrius. So this play has so much confusion in it but at least everyone gets to marry who they wanted to. With this confusing play we are doing I am having a good time with it so far in FOCUS.
-Ashlyn-

FIFTH GRADE FOCUS

What I like about fifth grade focus is how the subjects in here are quite easy. Mrs. Zawacki always give us the tools we need. The vocabulary words and vocabulary test lets me use big words in my english. My classmates may be a little talkative or a lot talkitive, but I don`t mind. I don't like using the dictionary / mr. webster, but he or it helps. What I don't like about Focus is how there is no recess. I rather learn than recess. Well it is farewell to Rock springs. It seems like I was just in Kindergarden. I`ve been here almost all my life. Same lunch for six years. Same recess for six years. Seeing all my old teachers for six years. It`s kind of like a prison here knowing how long I been here. I can`t wait for middle school though I will miss Rock Springs, and all my friends here. In focus we are doing a Readers theater play using one of shkaespears play. I don`t like the part I got in the Readers theater. I wanted a real part that has voice. Can I at least be the only narrator, but I can`t complain, because I have a part at least. I wanted to do Romeo and Juliet, but Mid-Summers Night Dream is good. This readers theater is going to be a blast.

5th Grade FOCUS At Rock Springs Elementary

This year has been really interesting in 5th grade FOCUS. We did a lot of really challengeing but still fun things, for instance right now we are doing Shakespeare. Our play is called "Midsummer Night's Dream". It is about 2 people who have different backrounds, and are in love but can't get married to eachother. Their names are Hermia and Lysander. Helena is in love with Demetrius, but Demetrius likes Hermia, who is in love with Lysander. All this comotion happened when Lysander and Hermia were trying to get away and have a wedding. There was a play going on in the forest where they were trying to get away to. Meanwhile while all of this was happening Oberon(the fairy king) was arguing with Titania ( the fairy queen). At the end of the play Hermia gets married to Lysander, and Demetrius gets married to Helena. I am a fairy that serves the fairy queen. This play was really fun to do but I would rather have a diffrent part not a fairy. In FOCUS we do much other things then just Shakespear. We do logic grids, balances, analogies, we write stories, read books, triple venn diagram, and much other fun things. So over all I think FOCUS is normally fun.
This is the time now to say a good-bye to this old school Rock Springs. I have a lot of memories from this school I went here 6 years. I remember when I was in Kindergarten I was corn in the Thnksgiving play. In Kindergarten we had a color song our color was yellow. In first grade we had a bathing suit day where we got to where our bathing suit and sun tan outside. In second grade we did a play. In this play my name was Elizabeth and I was one of the main characters. In third grade I made real icecream. We had a icecream party with that icecream. In forth grade we did alot of puzzels, coloring sheets, reading was really fun. In fith grade we made our own pillows and our own books. these our my final good-byes. Wish me luck in at Creekland.

FOCUS in Rock Springs

Focus

In the short time I have been in FOCUS it has had some good and bad times. The times that have been good is that the logic is a real brain buster. The other good times is the triple Venn diagram because I love math. Another fun time is the little free time we have to spend time with my FOCUS classmates. A bad thing about FOCUS is the analogies. They take WAY WAY to long and I'm not that good with dictionaries.

SHAKESPEARE

In our play A Midsummer Night's Dream , I'm Francis Flute. My character is a man that plays a women in a play. There were no women actress in Shakespeare times, so that makes since. The bad part is that I have to play a women most of the time. Why couldn't a girl in FOCUS play my part. The play is pretty cool if you have the right part.

FAREWELL ROCK SPRINGS

My favorite thing of Rock Springs is the recess. I like running around. Another thing I'm going miss is that I'm Student Council President and when I go into middle school I will be nothing. NOTHING. I guess this is it after six years i will have to move on. Look at the bright side I will meet new people. Good bye Rock Springs. No. Hello middle school.

-Austin
